Job description

We are searching for an Infrastructure Planning / DCO lawyer to support one of our key energy clients on an initial 3 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with Planning and DCO experience, particularly in the energy sector.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on planning and consenting processes, including compliance with national and local planning frameworks.
  • Draft and negotiate planning agreements, option agreements, and related documentation for infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct due diligence on land acquisition, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory approvals.
  • Support clients through public consultations, stakeholder engagement, and planning inquiries.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project financing, land rights, and consenting strategies.
  • Monitor legislative developments in clean energy and aviation sectors to ensure compliance and identify opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Qualified solicitor with 3+ years PQE in planning law.
  • Proven experience advising on infrastructure or energy projects (renewable or clean energy preferred).
  • Strong understanding of planning policy, environmental law, and consenting regimes, particularly under the Planning Act 2008.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and tight deadlines with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
