Where And How You Can Work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors all over the world to help us meet our big goals. As a Contractor at Canva, you can work remotely from anywhere in the United Kingdom, offering you flexibility. Please note, this is a 12-month contract with full-time and flexible hours, but you’ll need to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening (6-9 PM).

What You’d Be Doing In This Role

As a Content Strategist, you’ll shape Canva's presence in the European market, working closely with the Growth Team and Regional Creative Director to bring the Canva brand to life. You will focus on Performance Marketing in the UK, partnering with an Art Director, Growth Marketers, and freelancers to create engaging content based on data, market trends, and insights.

We’re looking for someone versatile, proactive, and experienced to drive creative testing across key markets. You should think both strategically and creatively, transforming big ideas into simple, inspiring copy that complements design.

This role involves testing and iterating creative assets as part of our always-on strategy, adapting quickly based on market insights to inform wider marketing initiatives.

Current Focus Areas
  • Develop ideas for Canva’s performance campaigns.
  • Create compelling content across digital channels like Meta, YouTube, and TikTok using performance data and market insights.
  • Lead the creative process from concept to delivery, ensuring assets are engaging and aligned with best practices and brand standards.
  • Drive creative testing and iteration for continuous learning.
  • Monitor ad performance and provide insights for future campaigns.
  • Collaborate with content creators, designers, and video editors to produce high-quality work.
  • Present concepts and work to senior leaders and stakeholders with a clear vision and strategic rationale.
  • Coordinate with external partners to maintain messaging consistency.
  • Work closely with the Regional Creative Director and Growth Leads to meet deadlines and manage schedules.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in creating and writing for campaigns and performance marketing.
  • A strategic and creative mindset with a track record of developing original ideas.
  • Interest in creative trends and new platforms, combining ideas with data for effective marketing.
  • Proactive, with a focus on continuous optimization.
  • Experience in performance creative, successful ads, and UGC.
  • Strong copywriting skills; video editing knowledge is a plus.
  • A diverse portfolio spanning advertising and marketing.
  • Strategic thinker capable of problem-solving and insight generation.
  • Excellent English skills; additional languages (French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, German) are a plus.
