Job description

Content Executive, Corporate Communications, University of Warwick
Department: Chief Communications Officers’ Group – Corporate Communications
FTE 0.8, 29.25 hours per week
£31,236 to £34,610 pro rata
Closing date: 10 December 2025

For informal enquiries, please contact Sarah Stacey, (Communications Officer), at S.R.stacey@warwick.ac.uk.

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our award‑winning Internal Communications team! Our Internal Communications team manages communications for our 13,000‑strong staff and helps colleagues understand what the University stands for and our vision for the future, by supporting, promoting, and underpinning the pillars of the 2030 Strategy – Excellence with a purpose.

In this role you will be speaking to our people across departments, from gardeners and cleaners in our Estates teams to academics involved in new research. You will be gathering information and stories and finding the best ways to tell them through engaging copy, features, photo stories, infographics or short form video.

You’ll help us manage and develop our internal communications channels and platforms and develop new approaches to better engage our staff audience. You will help us identify the success of communications and work to continuously improve them based on data and feedback.

You’ll help to write and shape communications for a wider audience too, from key stakeholders to the wider public. In doing all of this you will use our brand tone of voice and visual guidelines.

You’ll work closely with colleagues within our marketing, creative communications, student communications, brand, market research, media relations and social media teams, supporting not only Corporate Communications, but the wider Marketing, Communications, Insight and Student Recruitment department.

At the heart of our University lies the imperative to search for answers to the world’s most complex questions, and to share the knowledge we gain so that, together, we contribute to creating a fairer, better world for all.

By joining Warwick, you’ll join a diverse, innovative, and globally connected community committed to igniting real‑world progress regionally, nationally, and internationally.

The successful applicant will need to be available to work all or part of a Friday, as part of the four days.

About You

We are looking for someone who is great at making connections with colleagues at all levels to tell their story. With a keen eye for detail, you will take great pride in creating high quality content that can connect people and move them to take action.

Ideally you will be used to working in staff communications in a complex organisation. Copywriting and editing will be your key strength. You pride yourself on accuracy and being able to spot spelling and grammar mistakes in copy sent to you.

You’ll be used to translating complex information into clear and relatable content. You are an excellent storyteller with previous experience of applying brand guidelines to both written and visual content.

You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy meeting people and be able to easily win their trust so that they respect your guidance.

You’ll have experience in working in online communications across multiple channels.

It’s helpful if you’ve worked in higher education before, although it’s not essential.

You’ll be a team player who is happy to provide cover and support for other colleagues during busy periods or if they are away.
