Overview

Shape the Future of Respiratory Medicine with NHS Humber Health Partnership. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Respiratory Consultant to lead, innovate, and develop a service within a chosen sub‑specialty. The successful applicant will have the autonomy to mould how our Respiratory Service and its sub‑specialties are delivered, ensuring patients receive cutting‑edge, high‑quality care. We welcome candidates with expertise in EBUS, Interstitial Lung Disease, Asthma, Sleep‑Disordered Breathing, NIV, and Pleural Disease; other sub‑specialties will be considered on discussion.

There is a prestigious opportunity to be appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS), recognizing contributions to teaching and research. The honorary title grants access to university premises, facilities, systems, and library services to support academic and professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Respiratory Services across Northen Lincolnshire as part of a nine‑consultant team.
  • Contribute to adult general internal medicine (1:12 rota) and deliver timely bronchoscopies.
  • Support a Diagnostic Investigation Unit with a thoracic ultrasound service and ensure high‑quality diagnostics.
  • Provide outpatient clinic sessions with allocated administration time for smooth workflow.
  • Lead and contribute to teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate learners, working with Hull York Medical School (HYMS) and training advanced care practitioners with Sheffield University.
  • Support the Home Ventilation Programme (100 patients) and participate in expanding services such as Medical Thoracoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (already established in 2020).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure evidence‑based practice, professional development, and revalidation adherence.
