Job description
Job Overview

As a Consultant Psychiatrist your responsibilities will vary. You will provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite, actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision, and work within the multi‑disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications
  • Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
  • Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation

Work Schedule and Salary

4 days / 8 sessions per week between Monday to Friday. This role can be offered as a job share, or if you are looking for full time it can be worked across HMP Five Wells and HMP Gartree or HMP Stocken. You will receive an annual salary up to £196,736 per annum FTE, depending on experience.
