A prominent UK healthcare provider in Truro is seeking a Consultant Histopathologist. This role involves providing a wide range of histopathology services and improving departmental service delivery. The department collaborates closely with the University of Exeter for educational support. Prospective candidates should have interest in gynae or head/neck pathology. The Department of Cellular Pathology has a vacant substantive 10 PA Consultant Histopathologist post due to retirement. Our laboratory is a designated centre for many cancer sites and holds full UKAS accreditation. The laboratory receives over 40,000 histology, 1,600 diagnostic cytology and 900 autopsy requests annually. It performs a wide range of molecular techniques and has a subspecialty reporting system. Applicants from both specialised and generalised backgrounds will be considered, but an interest in gynae and/or head/neck is preferable; interest in haematopathology or uropathology is also welcomed.

The department is actively involved in the delivery of the education programme of the University of Exeter and this post will be part of this provision. For new consultants the job plan will include 2.5 SPAs for the first year.
Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons to work full‑time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with the consultant colleague.
