Job description

Are you keen to be within a commutable distance from London and have the opportunity to experience a rural lifestyle? If so, this is the perfect role for you! Our client based in north-east London is looking for a Consultant who specialises in Clinical Oncology to join their team.

This is a substantive post and the successful candidate will join a team of 12 Oncologists supported by 3 Specialty Doctors & 4 clinical Oncology SPRs. They will be expected to cover Urology and CNS malignancies and work as an integrated member of the Oncology team.

This department serves a population of approximately 750,000. The Radiotherapy department boasts cutting edge technology with a Halcyon Unit, a stereotactic enabled Edge and they now offer our patients adaptive radiotherapy via an ETHOS unit. All treatments are image guided.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice (ESSENTIAL)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of interview.
  • FRCR (Clinical Oncology)
  • Expertise in site specialty field
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary team of Surgeons, Medics, Allied Health professionals and Nurses
  • Ability to contribute to effective multi-disciplinary team working within the acute Trust
  • Ability to respond and cope with setbacks and pressure

Additional Information

The trust has a large and well-staffed research unit and the post holder will be expected to be actively engaged in clinical trials.
