Overview
Momentum Training is seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will bring current industry knowledge, a strong commitment to helping adult learners succeed, and the ability to translate real-world construction and health & safety experience into high-impact lessons.
This is a vocationally focused role where you will be responsible for delivering engaging and compliant training programmes that prepare learners for success in the workplace.
Key Duties
- Deliver one-to-one and small group tutoring sessions tailored to learner needs.
- Assess learners’ skills and develop personalised lesson plans.
- Deliver accredited Health & Safety training for construction environments.
- Teach construction site legislation (including HSE and CDM regulations).
- Deliver both classroom-based and site-based training where appropriate.
- Assess learners through observation, written assignments, and practical activities.
- Develop and adapt materials to meet different learning styles and levels.
- Promote safe practices and professional behaviours in line with industry expectations.
- Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements and internal quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching adults.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and adapt to different learner needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to learner success.
- Relevant qualifications in education or training (but not essential).
- Awareness of inclusive and differentiated teaching methods.
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent construction-related H&S certification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) – or willingness to work towards one.
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety regulations (Health and Safety at Work Act, etc.).
