Job description

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic national construction business who are looking to recruit a Construction Bid Planner on a permanent basis due to growth based at their London depot.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to bid teams through the provision of an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and planning deliverables function for any work type and any value, and subsequently contribute to post tender negotiations and handover to the project team.
  • Provide support to the project management team through the provision of an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and project performance reporting function.
  • Develop detail within an existing programme and can coach others.
  • Update and monitor progress within the working programme and can coach others.
  • Resource and cost load programmes.
  • Understanding of the introduction & evaluation of risk in programmes
  • Use appropriate methods to check programme robustness.
  • Provide routine and one-off programme outputs.
  • Tender Specific Planning Skills
  • Assimilate and interpret information from tender documentation.
  • Contribute to bid winning strategy
  • Develop programme structure and content independently working with bid team.
  • Ensure communication & transfer of knowledge post award.
  • Contribute to tender written submission.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven skills in planning software, principally P6, and can coaching of others.
  • Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques.
  • Give advice and support on short term programmes to construction teams.
  • Understand how to make an analytical assessment of programmes.
  • Ability to evaluate supply chain programmes.
  • Understand and comply with business processes and systems.
  • Ability to work to defined timescales.
  • Establish and maintain Internal and External Project Controls reporting.

Location: Central London
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + £5,750 Car Allowance
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
