Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the United Kingdom is seeking a Computer Repair Technician for an immediate start. The successful candidate will work in a Repair Centre, troubleshooting and repairing laptops and PCs. This temporary role offers a salary between £26K-£27K with the potential to become permanent. Ideal applicants will have prior experience in a Repair Centre and effective communication skills to support end-users. Flexible working hours are available, starting between 7am-9am.

Responsibilities

  • Repair laptops and PCs in the Repair Centre.
  • Conduct diagnostics and PAT testing.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware/software.
  • Set up and maintain network connections.
  • Assemble and disassemble computer systems.

About the Computer Repair Technician Role:
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, flexible start times between 7am-9am (8 hour shift per day)
  • 26K - 27K per annum, depending on experience
  • Temporary role to start, with potential to become permanent
  • Based in Dorcan, Swindon
  • Electronics training will be provided
Duties for the Computer Repair Technician Role:
  • Working in the Repair Centre you will be repairing laptops & PC's
  • Other duties will include diagnostics & PAT testing
  • Liaising with Tech Agents requesting specification information of PC's / laptops
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software
  • Perform computer networking tasks, including setting up and maintaining network connections
  • Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble and disassemble computer systems
Experience / Skills Required for the Computer Repair Technician Role:
  • Previous experience of troubleshooting, repairing, testing laptops, PC's etc is essential
  • Previous experience working in a Repair Centre would be advantageous
  • Effective communication skills to provide technical information / support to end-users
  • Work effectively as part of a small team
