Overview

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is recruiting Complex Needs Practitioners for Todhill services in Stevenston, to support individuals with Autism and associated complex learning disabilities, including those with ongoing Mental Health issues, Learning Disabilities and Dementia. This is a Full Time post consisting of 39 hours per week. The campus has a multi-million pound development with 21 brand new homes designed to meet the needs and preferences of the people we support, plus a Day Centre Service offering vocational and recreational activities such as horticulture, arts and crafts and animal husbandry. No driving is required for these posts.

Responsibilities
  • Support individuals with Autism and related complex learning disabilities in all aspects of daily life, including personal care (full support or prompting), cooking (or prompting to cook), general household tasks, shopping and attending appointments.
  • Use different communication tools to meet the needs of individuals with complex communication requirements.
  • Support individuals who may experience anxiety or display challenging behaviour, typically when the person is trying to communicate something.
Qualifications
  • No care experience is necessary for these positions.
  • Experience in supporting people with autism and learning disabilities, or knowledge of borderline personality disorders, is beneficial.
  • Having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector.
  • All new staff will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.
