Job summary

Rotherwood is recruiting for a Complex Needs Support Worker in Lancaster to support adults with complex needs, helping them build confidence, independence and a more positive future.

You will work with individuals facing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance misuse or other complex circumstances, providing trauma-informed, person-centred support and coordinating with housing, healthcare and community services.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and resilient to support others.
• Experience in supported housing, homelessness, mental health or similar settings.
• Experience completing support plans, assessments and risk assessments.
• Understanding safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, homelessness.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.

We're currently recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients for a Complex Needs Support Worker based in Lancaster.

The Role

As a Complex Needs Support Worker, you’ll work closely with individuals who may have experienced homelessness, mental health challenges, substance misuse or other complex life circumstances.

Your Role Will Include

• Providing person-centred, trauma-informed support.
• Managing a caseload and carrying out support plans and risk assessments.
• Supporting individuals to access housing, healthcare, benefits and community services.
• Encouraging independence and helping people achieve their personal goals.
• Building positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Working alongside external agencies and partner organisations to ensure the best outcomes for each individual.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Ideally You’ll Have

• Previous experience within supported housing, homelessness, mental health or another support setting.
• Experience completing support plans, assessments and risk assessments.
• An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour or homelessness.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
