Animal Trust in Wrexham is seeking a receptionist to join our clinical team. You will assist with appointments, take payments, manage the diary, and help ensure smooth day-to-day reception operations in a busy veterinary setting.

The role requires experience on a veterinary or medical reception, strong organisation, and the ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and clear communication. On-site work with a supportive team and a focus on compassionate care for pets and their owners.

Qualifications

• Experience working on a medical or veterinary reception is required for this role.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Empathy, understanding and good communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming clients and their pets for appointments with a compassionate and professional attitude.
• Answering telephone calls and responding to client queries.
• Handling medications prepared by the veterinary surgeon and handing them to clients.
• Working within a team (and at times alone) to maintain reception, waiting area and consultation rooms to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Dealing with stressed or upset clients and connecting them to the appropriate teams.
• Taking payments, registering new clients and addressing client concerns.
• Organising and restocking the practice as required.
• Complying with health and safety procedures.
• Complying with data protection legislation to ensure client and patient confidentiality.
