Job summary

Independent Living Solutions Ltd. in Bristol is seeking a dedicated care assistant to support Orla, a child with mild motor impairment and epilepsy, in the community and during home activities.

You will help with leisure, swimming, cycling and outings, assist with personal care, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with the family. Driving will be required; you’ll use your own car with business insurance, and DBS checks and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
• Satisfactory references, including from your most recent employer.
• Enhanced DBS check (a conviction will not necessarily prevent employment).

Responsibilities

• Supporting Orla out in the community with leisure activities, learning to ride a bike, and to swim.
• Supporting at other activities like the local park, classes and clubs.
• Some assistance with personal care.
• Effective communication.
• Ability to work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.
