Job summary

Independent Lives in North Chailey is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant to support a 24-year-old man with Autism and OCD, promoting daily independence. The role involves support, supervision and prompting with personal care, food prep, appointments, community access, and social and leisure activities.

You will work on-site part-time, with mileage expenses at 50p per mile. Applicants should be reliable, patient and able to communicate in English.

Qualifications

Reliable with good timekeeping.
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties.
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with pets.
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety.
Experience working in welfare with vulnerable adults is desirable.
Experience/knowledge of working with adults with ASD & OCD.
Able to speak and read English to a good standard.

Responsibilities

Support the individual to promote daily independence, including personal care, food prep, appointments, and community access.
Assist with transportation, companionship and social/leisure activities.
Provide prompting, encouragement and supervision of personal care tasks.
Engage in walks, day trips and community activities as appropriate.
Other relevant duties as required.
