Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic Unqualified SEN Classroom Support staff to assist pupils across mainstream and specialist schools in West Yorkshire. Previous school-based experience is not essential, as transferable childcare or support roles are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or within care/support settings is desirable.
• No formal SEN qualification is required for this role.
• Willing to learn and complete relevant training and CPD.
• Enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
• Must have legal right to work in the UK.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom.
• Support pupils with diverse needs to access lessons and resources.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication and social skills.
• Provide emotional, social and pastoral support throughout the school day.
• Monitor pupil progress and well-being and communicate with teaching staff.
• Work with teachers and SENCOs to provide consistent support.
