Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking dedicated SEN Support Assistants to work 1:1 with children in KS1 within mainstream primary schools. These roles are based in on-site SEN provisions, supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, and communication needs.

You will provide nurturing, structured support to a KS1 pupil, helping them access learning and regulate emotions. You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and support teams to ensure needs are met throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally in KS1.
• Confidence working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, or communication needs.
• Strong understanding of SEN strategies and inclusive practice.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• You must have legal right to work in the UK.

SEN Support Assistant

Mainstream Primary School (KS1)

Location: Wakefield & surrounding areas Contract: Full-time, term-time only

We are seeking dedicated SEN Support Assistants to work 1:1 with children in KS1 within mainstream primary schools. These roles are based in on-site SEN provisions, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including communication differences, Autism, ADHD, and social-emotional needs.

You will provide consistent, nurturing and structured support to a KS1 pupil, helping them access learning, regulate emotions and develop confidence. Working within the school's SEN provision, you'll collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams to ensure the child's needs are met throughout the school day.
