Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Chorley, supporting KS3/KS4 pupils with a range of needs. You will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities, support learning and wellbeing, and help pupils develop communication and confidence.

The role offers term-time only, with a supportive leadership team, opportunities for CPD, and a nurturing, inclusive environment in a specialist SEN setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
• Understanding of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for KS3 and KS4 pupils with SEN needs.
• Deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities with teachers.
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small group interventions.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies.
