Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in Lincoln. The role focuses on preparing and serving nutritious meals with kindness to residents in dementia, nursing, and residential settings. It requires some kitchen experience and a willingness to work towards an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.

The position is part-time (11 hours per week) with shift patterns across mornings and afternoons. Training and ongoing development are provided within HC-One’s supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen environments and food service.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Demonstrate new team members how to use kitchen equipment safely.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen clean after busy periods.
