Job summary

Fisher & Dixon Funeral Directors in St Helens is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One) to lead the branch day to day, supporting families and coordinating ceremonies. The role offers extensive on-site training in funeral plans and ceremonial duties, with duties spanning client care, administration, and supplier liaison.

The position requires empathy, strong organisation and communication skills, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and empathetic in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Experience in customer service, care or admin is beneficial (full training provided).
• Strong communication, organisation and administrative skills, confident with legal paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Guide families through funeral arrangements with care and clarity.
• Arrange funerals meeting family wishes, cultural practices and legal requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations including administration and presentation.
• Build relationships with suppliers, care homes and local community groups.
• Lead chapel visits when required and assist with ceremonial duties.
• Raise awareness of funeral plans and contribute to plan sales within the branch.
• Train in Funeral Conducting to assist with ceremonial duties during peak times.
