Job summary

Chelmsford Star Co-op’s funeral team is seeking a caring professional to be the first point of contact for families at the scene of bereavement. You will support care and presentation of the deceased with dignity and respect, building relationships during a difficult time and delivering high standards of professional service.

You will participate in standby and on-call rotas and may be required to lift and transfer the deceased.

Qualifications

• Compassion and empathy for bereaved families.
• Willingness to participate in standby and on-call duties.
• Ability to comply with DBS checks and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be the families’ first contact at the scene of bereavement and provide support with care and presentation of the deceased.
• Deliver the highest standards of professional service with dignity and respect.
• Participate in standby/on-call rota and assist with transfers using Society vehicles.
