Job summary

OurCoop funeral team seeks caring individuals to be the first point of contact for families at bereavement scenes. You will help care for loved ones, ensuring dignified preparation and presentation, including washing and dressing the deceased, with empathy and professionalism.

A standby/on-call rota is part of the role, and a DBS check is required for new joiners from December 2023. You will work closely with a supportive team within our Society vehicles and community networks.

Qualifications

• Must have compassion, empathy and professionalism.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased.
• Full UK Manual driving licence.
• Willing to participate in Standby and On-Call rota.

Responsibilities

• Care for families at the scene of bereavement and act as first point of contact.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of the deceased with dignity and respect (washing/dressing).
• Attend standby/on-call duties as part of responsibilities.
