London Hire Community Services is seeking a Passenger Assistant (Zero-hours) in West Norwood. The role supports drivers to ensure passenger safety and comfort, assisting with boarding/alighting and passenger welfare on journeys.

The team works to industry standards with strict safety practices; duties include operating assistive equipment and securing wheelchairs, while maintaining clear communication with service users.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of disabilities.
• Patient and level-headed attitude.
• Ability to work in a team and use own initiative.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Great attention to detail for clear record-keeping.

Responsabilités

• Assist the driver to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
• Assist passengers boarding/alighting, including those with disabilities.
• Monitor passengers and welfare during transit.
• Help operate passenger lift or equipment as required.
• Ensure wheelchairs are secured properly.
• Secure passengers in wheelchairs with belts or restraints.
• Communicate with passengers in a patient, informative manner.
• Report late running and incidents per depot processes.
• Keep the vehicle secure when in use.
• Use communication equipment for safe, smooth service.
