Job summary

London Hire Community Services is seeking a Passenger Assistant to support the Bus Operations team in Milton Keynes. You will assist drivers, help passengers board and alight, and monitor welfare during transit while ensuring safety and comfort.

The role is zero hours, term-time only with pro-rata salary and automatic pension enrolment after three months. Overtime may be available and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of disabilities.
• Ability to deliver service with patience and calm.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
• Help passengers board and alight, including those with disabilities.
• Monitor passenger welfare during transit and report incidents as required.
• Assist in operating lifts or equipment used for boarding and alighting.
• Ensure wheelchairs are securely located and restrained.
• Communicate with passengers in a patient, informative manner.
• Maintain vehicle security and report issues.
• Ensure all communication equipment is used correctly.
