London Hire Community Services is seeking a Passenger Assistant to support 18 hours per week in Wandsworth. You will help ensure passenger safety and comfort, assist with boarding, and support the driver during transit.

The role emphasises teamwork, clear communication, and sensitivity to passengers with disabilities. Term-time only with pro-rata earnings and pension access after three months.

Qualifications

• Understanding of disabilities and ability to support passengers safely.
• Patient and level-headed attitude when assisting passengers.
• Ability to work in a team and use initiative with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsabilités

• Assist the driver to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
• Help passengers board/disembark, including those with disabilities.
• Monitor passengers during transit and look after their welfare.
• Assist in operating equipment (e.g., passenger lift) as required.
• Secure wheelchairs and ensure passenger belts are properly used.
• Communicate with passengers in a patient, informative manner.
• Report late running or incidents per depot processes.
• Keep the vehicle secure when in use and ensure radios/devices are used correctly.
