Job summary

London Hire Community Services is seeking a PCV Driver for casual zero-hours shifts in West Norwood. You will operate buses with safety checks, assist passengers, and support the Passenger Assistant as required. The role requires a D licence, CPC card, and willingness to undergo DBS checks. Competitive hourly pay £17.01, with zero hours contracts and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Hold a full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable), with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Hold a CPC qualification card, with up-to-date training.
• Minimum of two years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
• Willing to apply for a DVLA Digital Tachograph driver’s card.
• Willing to undergo a DBS check.
• Hold a current and valid D4 medical examination report.

Responsibilities

• Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits.
• Ensure mandatory vehicle checks are undertaken every time the vehicle is used to a standard acceptable on the road.
• Ensure that all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly in the appropriate location using the necessary safety equipment.
• Ensure that the vehicle in use has adequate fuel for the journey, refueling as and when required or instructed.
• Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned inside and out on a regular basis, as a minimum on a weekly basis.
• Remove and replace seating as required.
• Ensure that the vehicle is parked in the depot correctly, in pre allocated bays where possible.
• Operate the passenger lift and other equipment used to assist passengers whilst entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
• Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative manner.
• Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required.
