Job summary

Sheffield City Council HQ is seeking two Support Managers to lead a team delivering high-quality home support services to adults with short-term reablement needs. The roles are 37 hours per week, permanent, within the Home First Community service area.

The post requires strong leadership, experience in social care, and a commitment to safeguarding and continuous improvement, working across Sheffield with community-based staff.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising staff in a social care setting.
• Experience supporting adults with complex or changing needs.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of social care frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g. CQC).
• Ability to manage resources and drive performance.
• Excellent communication and partnership working.
• Driving license and willingness to work across Sheffield.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Support Workers to deliver high-quality care.
• Oversee individual support plans, including complex needs.
• Ensure services meet regulatory standards and best practice.
• Manage resources to support efficient service delivery.
• Drive performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with partners and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support service development and contribute to strategic planning.
• Provide cover for other managers and attend key meetings.
