Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust recruits for a Stroke and Neurological Rehabilitation Team Technician. The role can be Band 3 Therapy Support Worker or Band 4 Technician, with a structured development pathway to Band 4.

The post involves delivering rehabilitation programmes delegated by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in community settings, homes, and clinics, with supervision, training and opportunities to develop specialist skills in stroke care.

Qualifications

• Good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
• NVQ level III qualification in therapy/care or equivalent relevant qualification.
• BTEC National Diploma in relevant area or equivalent relevant qualification.
• IELTS (unless qualification taken in English)

Responsibilities

• To carry out skilled interventions as delegated by senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
• To assist patients to develop skills relating to mobility, transfers, activities of daily living, upper limb function, cognition, communication and community participation, within agreed competencies.
• To monitor the patient's response to therapy intervention and report back on the outcome.
• To encourage patients and carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
• This may be in clinics within community hospitals, in the community, or the patient's own home.
