Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Stroke and Neurological Rehabilitation Team Technician, Band 3-4, 22.5 hours per week, delivering community-based rehabilitation in the Redruth area.

Role involves delivering rehab programmes under the guidance of Therapists across community settings, with a pathway for progression from Band 3 to Band 4 and a multidisciplinary team supporting development.

Qualifications

• Good general education to GCSE or equivalent
• NVQ level III qualification in therapy/care or equivalent relevant qualification
• BTEC National Diploma in relevant area or equivalent relevant qualification
• IELTS (unless qualification taken in English)

Responsibilities

• To carry out skilled interventions as delegated by senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
• To assist patients to develop skills relating to mobility, transfers, activities of daily living, upper limb function, cognition, communication and community participation, within agreed competencies
• To monitor the patient’s response to therapy intervention and report back on the outcome
• To encourage patients and carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence
• This may be in clinics within community hospitals, in the community, or the patient’s own home. This may not be directly supervised by the therapist (e.g. practising mobility, exercises or activities of daily living)
• To support safe ongoing rehabilitation in patients' homes and community settings.
