Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Community Stroke and Neurological Rehabilitation Service in Cornwall. The role involves advanced clinical practice, leadership, and service development across home, community and outpatient settings.

You will manage a complex caseload, deliver specialist assessments and interventions, and contribute to shaping stroke pathways while supporting staff development and research activity.

Qualifications

• Degree in occupational therapy and HCPC registration.
• Evidence of Masters level study relevant to stroke and neuro rehabilitation.
• IELTS or proficiency in English if qualification obtained outside UK.
• Formal CPD activity and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist OT assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with stroke and complex neuro conditions in community/outpatient settings.
• Manage a complex caseload with advanced clinical reasoning to improve independence and quality of life.
• Lead complex discharge planning, risk assessment and rehabilitation programmes.
• Provide specialist advice and support to multidisciplinary teams, patients and carers.
• Support service development, clinical governance, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and develop OT staff, support workers and students.
