Overview

We are excited to appoint an enthusiastic Community Project Officer to join our welcoming and ambitious team Central Team within The Mead Educational Trust (TMET). This role will focus on creating, delivering and evaluating impactful community projects that advance the Mead2030 vision, improving education, wellbeing, family support, and reducing poverty and vulnerability across our communities.

An enhanced DBS check with a check of the barred lists is required for all roles working with children. As part of our safer recruitment process and in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025, we will also carry out:

  • Online searches for all shortlisted candidates, to help identify any issues or concerns that are publicly available online
  • Checks on employment history, references, and eligibility to work in the UK
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, promotion, and delivery of impactful community programmes that engage young people, families, and local residents.
  • Collaborate with schools, families, and partners to co-create projects informed by community need and evidence-based practice.
  • Monitor, analyse, and communicate engagement data to demonstrate impact and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with organisational policies and financial procedures.
  • Build and sustain effective partnerships with schools, agencies, and community organisations.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers and interns while embedding organisational values.
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and confidentiality across all areas of work.
  • Act as a positive ambassador, representing the organisation at meetings, networks, and community forums and contributing to programme development.
