Job description

The Mental Health & Wellness Team (MH&WT) is looking to recruit a Community Mental Health Nurse for a full-time vacancy. The post holder will be working within a dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team. Applicants will have substantial experience of working within a mental health setting and will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills as well as evidence-based knowledge of working in the Recovery Model framework and trauma informed care.

The Successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in the newly formed Mental Wellness teams. All successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the projects that support the team and to apply for training and development initiatives.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • You will be working as part of our multi-disciplinary team and will coordinate a caseload of service users that have complex and challenging needs.
  • We require good IT skills and knowledge of using electronic recording systems. It is essential that you are willing to work flexibly within the demands of the service.
  • You will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team and other agencies to deliver recovery focused health and social care interventions that includes managing risk and the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to provide managerial supervision to junior colleagues, mentor MDT students and participate in on-going educational and research programmes.
Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.
