Job summary

A leading Defence and Aerospace company is seeking a Communications Lead for a 6-month contract in Belfast. The successful candidate will support internal communications during a Merger and Acquisition process and help establish local communication strategies. Key responsibilities include creating communication tools and managing messaging consistency. Candidates should have experience in communications, particularly in transformation and change within the M&A environment. This role offers a competitive £34.98 per hour, based on Inside IR35 regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish Communications set up and outputs in Belfast.
  • Support creation of internal communication tools and channels.
  • Define and deliver key messaging during the transition phase.
  • Manage consistent messaging with public affairs team.

Skills

Experience in communications (internal, external, community relations)
Experience of M&A comms environment, transformation and change
Good understanding of Northern Ireland as an operating environment
Comms plan definition and execution
Strategic thinking
Ability to connect with different stakeholders across functions and divisions
Event management capability
Understanding of local UK media and ability to engage effectively

As the Communications Lead, you will be working alongside a market‑leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. Responsibilities
  • Play a key role in the establishment of Communications "set up" and outputs in Belfast, bringing local needs into alignment with the company's communications approach in the UK as appropriate
  • Supports the creation of interim and long‑term internal communications tools and channels
  • Works with the project team to define and deliver key messaging and communications materials during the transition phase
  • Interacts with wider UK and global communications team, and the public affairs team, to manage consistent messaging to external audiences
Skillset
  • Experience in communications (internal, external, community relations)
