Job description

Are you looking for a new challenge? Come to Australia and join us in a business critical Commissioning role!

About Us

Zinfra is a leading infrastructure services provider, delivering major projects for state government clients along Australia’s eastern seaboard. We specialise in energy, utilities, and infrastructure, with a commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability at the core of everything we do.

Our innovative approach and technical expertise enable us to provide exceptional solutions that help Australia progress toward its Net Zero targets. With over 2,000 team members across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania, we consistently strive to exceed client expectations and make a positive impact in the communities we serve.

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Test and Commissioning (T& C) Lead/Manager to drive the development and delivery of our T&C services nationally. Reporting to the National Project Engineering Manager, you’ll lead on‑site execution, manage teams of Commissioning Engineers, and ensure all activities meet client expectations and Zinfra’s high standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and expand our T&C capabilities—improving systems, processes, and documentation while supporting tender development and project delivery. You’ll also play a key role in business development and stakeholder engagement, making this a highly visible and influential position within a growing, future‑focused infrastructure business.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Driving the national development and delivery of Zinfra’s Testing & Commissioning (T&C) offering, ensuring consistent execution aligned with company standards and client expectations.
  • Leading and mentoring high‑performing T&C teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Collaborating with Resource Coordinators to manage and allocate skilled personnel, aligning workforce capabilities with project needs to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Executing or overseeing complex on‑site T&C activities, delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Enhancing T&C capabilities across systems, documentation, and processes, championing innovation and standardisation to improve project performance.
  • Developing competitive, compliant T&C tender submissions, supporting business growth and alignment with revenue, profitability, and HSEQ targets.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, building trusted relationships to ensure satisfaction, alignment, and long‑term success.
  • Identifying and implementing development pathways for internal talent, growing in‑house capability and supporting career progression across the T&C discipline.
  • Championing lessons learned and risk management practices, continuously improving project execution through knowledge‑sharing and robust governance.
About You

You’re a results‑driven professional with proven HV commissioning expertise across transmission and distribution networks. With strong leadership skills, you excel in managing complex substation projects, mentoring teams, and driving process improvements. Your commitment to safety, integrity, and high‑quality outcomes sets you apart. An HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential, and experience with SR/TP/BP 141 standards is highly desirable.

Please ensure your profile highlights the below:
  • Extensive HV commissioning experience on transmission (132kV) and distribution networks
  • Delivery of greenfield and brownfield substation projects across multiple ownership networks
  • Strong leadership in team management, coaching, and mentoring for high performance
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and consistency
  • Deep understanding of HV commissioning standards and compliance requirements
  • Skilled at balancing multiple priorities with attention to detail and accountability
  • Alignment with safety, teamwork, and integrity as core values
