Job summary

Village Warrington is seeking a Commis Chef to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen. You will learn the basics, prep ingredients, and help keep service flowing in a busy brigade.

You will develop foundational cooking skills, understand portion control, temperatures, and hygiene standards while working as part of a close-knit team. We value attitude and energy over experience, offering training, progression, and access to funded qualifications as you move up to Chef de

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the chefs on your section, controlling portion sizes, checking temperatures, and ensuring every plate looks exactly to company specification.
• Maintain absolute cleanliness and adhere to food hygiene regulations, HACCP, and EHO directives to keep a professional, safe, and spotless working environment.
• Know the menu and ensure you have tasted and tested your knowledge on every dish before it launches.
• Keep communication clear with the restaurant and banqueting teams to keep service moving.
