Village Hotels - Cardiff is seeking a Commis Chef to learn, prep and support the Head Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment. You will work on your section, help with portion control and ensure dishes meet company standards.

Previous experience is welcome but attitude and energy matter most. You will receive hands-on training, hygiene guidance, and clear paths to advance within the brigade.

Qualifications

• Passion for food and eagerness to learn in a busy kitchen.
• Willingness to follow standards like HACCP and hygiene rules.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs on your section, controlling portion sizes and checking temperatures.
• Maintain absolute cleanliness and adhere to food hygiene regulations.
• Know the menu and ensure you can discuss dishes knowledgeably.
• Report equipment faults and help minimise waste while communicating with teams.
