Job summary

Hyatt Centric Cambridge is seeking a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will assist in preparing and presenting dishes to high standards, support the Chef de Partie, and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

You will learn and grow in a hands-on role, with on-the-job training and opportunities to develop culinary skills within a renowned hotel brand.

Qualifications

• Experience within a Hotel, Brasserie or Restaurant Kitchen is desirable, however on-job training will be provided.
• Basic culinary qualification or training is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes, ensuring every plate meets our standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie and wider kitchen team to deliver smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen, ensuring equipment and storage areas are always service-ready.
• Help manage stock, minimise food waste and take pride in maintaining an efficient kitchen.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, allergen and kitchen compliance procedures to the highest standards.
• Adapt to the needs of the business, supporting events and working collaboratively across the hotel when required.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture while championing our brand standards and commitment to hospitality.
