What you'll be doing

As a Commis Chef you will be responsible for planning, preparation, cooking and presentation of food to the standard required by the Company and the Client. You will also be responsible for all stock control, waste control and ensuring that all hygiene and H&S requirements are met to the highest standards. You will work closely with our leadership team on site.

More about the role
  • To help prepare and cook enough food to provide a wide choice for customers. Ensure that the menus are adhered to. Wastage is to be kept to a minimum.
  • To set up & check counters. Ensure all equipment is on and working.
  • Help prepare breakfast & lunches as required. Ensure all items on menu are available and ready for service. To cook food to order as required
  • To help served customers, both on counter and till.
  • To ensure all vending machines are fully stocked by the end of the day ready for the evening & night shift.
  • To check food for taste, appearance and quality, before serving.
  • To make sure food on the counter and on the plate is served and attractively garnished. Ensure portion controls are adhered to
  • To help with the day to day shopping, Ensure all supplies are checked correctly, and put away in the right place. Ensure all foods are labelled and dated.
  • All floats in the vending machines are full by the end of the day.
  • To help with the completion of paper work to record the amount of wastage and temperature records
  • To make sure the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy during all times of the day
Who you are
  • Good verbal communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
  • Able to handle a section
