Job description
Commercial Strategy Associate - Fintech
About the Company

They are a fast-growing fintech company providing embedded finance solutions to many of the world’s leading e-commerce, technology, and payments businesses. Their platform allows partners to offer flexible, branded funding products to their merchant customers — without taking on capital risk.

Supported by a leading private equity investor, they’ve achieved consistent triple-digit growth year on year since 2020. Headquartered in London with operations across Europe and North America, they work with an impressive portfolio of global partners across the digital commerce space.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with commercial strategy. As a Commercial Associate, you’ll be responsible for turning data into actionable insights that drive growth and improve partner performance. You’ll work closely with teams across Partnerships, Product, Risk, Capital Markets, and Operations to enhance pricing, optimise propositions, and identify opportunities for expansion into new markets and customer segments.

The position suits someone who’s curious, data-driven, has a strong commercial acumen and eager to make a tangible impact in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Please note this is a Partner/Client Facing role - ideally you have had exposure in this area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse partner and commercial performance to uncover trends and areas for improvement
  • Translate data into meaningful insights and practical recommendations for internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Support the Partnerships and leadership teams with analytics for business reviews, RFPs, and commercial discussions
  • Collaborate across departments to refine pricing, product propositions, and operational efficiency
  • Build and maintain financial and performance models to inform pricing, forecasting, and tracking
  • Conduct research and analysis to support new market entries and go-to-market strategies
  • Lead smaller projects or workstreams within broader commercial initiatives, ensuring milestones are met
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders and partner organisations
  • Identify data gaps and process improvements to strengthen decision-making and reporting
What They’re Looking For
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a data-led, analytical, and commercial role working in a Fintech or high growth software business.
  • If you are coming from a strategy/banking background - ideally you have had some exposure or experience in a tech startup.
  • Ability to manage and work around ambiguous situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — highly proficient in Excel, with some experience or interest in SQL and data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Metabase)
  • Excellent communicator who can turn complex data into compelling stories and insights
  • Genuine interest in fintech, data, and commercial strategy
