A very well respected, expanding law firm in Chester isseeking a Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join the business at a pivotal stage of growth. This is a strategic appointment with the opportunity to shape and lead the firm's commercial property offering over time.

The Role

This role represents a rare chance for an experienced Commercial Property Lawyer to take on a senior, influential position within a growing firm. The hire is driven by succession planning and offers flexibility around title and structure depending on experience.

The firm is ideally looking for a Solicitor with 10+ years' PQE who can operate at a leadership level from the outset, managing complex commercial property matters while helping to guide and develop the team. There is clear potential for this position to progress into a Head of Department role as the firm continues to grow.

Senior candidates will have the autonomy to help shape how the commercial property team operates, contribute to strategic decisions and play a visible role in the firm's broader development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and managing a varied and technically complex commercial property caseload
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on complex agreements, including options agreements
  • Acting as a senior point of expertise within the commercial property team
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing Solicitors and Paralegals
  • Contributing to the strategic growth of the department and wider firm

About You
  • 10+ years' PQE in commercial property
  • Strong technical capability across complex and non‑standard matters
  • Experience in agricultural property is advantageous but not essential
  • Demonstrated leadership ability or interest in heading up a team

  • Motivated by the opportunity to help shape and grow a department
