Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to take a leading role in the commercial management of a major rail infrastructure scheme. This is a multi-year project that includes station construction, earthworks, structure renewals and replacements, and new permanent way on previously disused track.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing all commercial aspects of the project, including preparation and pricing of contracts.
  • Supporting the bid team during pre-contract stages and providing commercial leadership through delivery.
  • Working closely with design and delivery teams to identify and realise cost savings.
  • Taking ownership of procurement, reporting, applications and accurate financial forecasting.
  • Ensuring risks and opportunities are effectively managed and controlled.
  • Providing clear and accountable financial reporting for both internal and client requirements.
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience in rail or large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C/E preferred).
  • Track record of managing commercial teams and delivering successful project outcomes.
  • Skilled in contract preparation, procurement, and cost management.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Commercially astute, detail-driven, and confident in leading reporting and governance.
