Job Description

As a Collection and Delivery Driver for DPD, you'll be the face of our company and play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Serving as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels
  • Starting your shift at the depot, where you'll be responsible for efficiently loading parcels onto your 3.5 tonne van
  • Following a daily delivery schedule and managing your route effectively to ensure timely collections and deliveries
  • Safely operating and maintaining the 3.5 tonne van, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
  • Accurately scanning and recording parcel information using handheld devices
  • Collecting signatures and other necessary proof of delivery from customers
  • Promptly reporting any delivery issues, vehicle problems, or customer concerns to your supervisor
  • Maintaining a clean and organised van, conducting daily vehicle checks, and reporting any maintenance needsAdapting to changing weather conditions and adjusting your delivery approach accordingly
  • Collaborating with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting
  • Wearing the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on duty

Qualifications

What we're looking for :

To be considered for the role you must have :

Held a full UK driving licence and had regular driving experience for 12 months or more

  • Are comfortable working in various weather conditions
  • Have a good knowledge of local roads and geography
