Job summary

DeterTech in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Infrastructure & Network Support Engineer to join our IT team in Telford. You will own issues from second/third line support, maintain core on-premises and cloud infrastructure, and work with the IT lead to ensure secure, reliable systems.

The role covers administration of Windows Server environments, networking, cloud services, backups, and DR activities. You will document procedures and support uptime and security while guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Windows Server environments and related services.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with Azure infrastructure and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Proven ability to provide second/third-line IT support and incident ownership.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments and related services.
• Monitor server availability, performance and capacity.
• Investigate and resolve server-related faults and service issues.
• Support virtualised environments and infrastructure.
• Maintain file servers, shared resources and access permissions.
• Perform routine maintenance and patching.
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively investigate issues.
• Support deployment, configuration and maintenance of infrastructure systems.
• Assist with upgrades, migrations and improvement projects.
• Lead backup monitoring and disaster recovery activities.
• Maintain documentation for backup, recovery and security.
• Provide second/third-line technical support and escalation where required.
• Document resolutions and share knowledge with the team.
