Job description

A Vacancy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated and scientifically skilled person to take on a lead role at the St. George's Radiological Protection Centre. The successful applicant would lead the diagnostic radiology service provided to the Trust and, acting as the nominated RPA and MPE, provide services to a wide range of external customers. They will use their knowledge, skills and experience to help ensure compliance with the regulatory framework and play an important role in the development of the RPC's scientific services. They will also support the delivery of RPC's training commitments to healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Radiation Protection in delivering RPC’s service commitments.
  • Act as the nominated RPA and MPE to sites that are the responsibility of the post holder.
  • Audit services with regard to their compliance with legislation relating to radiation and laser safety and advise on corrective actions arising.
  • Investigate radiation incidents and provide radiation incident reports to clients, ensuring the accuracy of reports provided by other colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development of RPC’s scientific and technical services.
  • Contribute to the department's scientific research and development activities.
  • Provide advice on legislation and guidance in radiation protection to clients.
