A healthcare trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a Surgical Clinical Practitioner to join their multi-professional workforce. The successful candidate will take a lead role in the clinical assessment and treatment of surgical in-patients, working closely with senior medical and nursing staff. The role requires the ability to work autonomously at times and to develop treatment plans based on thorough assessments. The Surgical Clinical Practitioner (CP) will work as an integral member of the multi‑professional workforce. The post holder will take a lead role in the clinical assessment and treatment of surgical in‑patients within the Trust. The Surgical CP will form part of the ward round team, responsible for reviewing/assessing patients who are a mix of acutely unwell and elective pathway and for their ongoing management of inter‑hospital care. The CP will be required at times to work autonomously and aid in determining clinical diagnosis and treatment plans, working closely with senior medical and nursing staff. This may eventually progress to involvement in reviewing patients in clinic.
They will provide early escalation to the Senior Surgical Registrar or Consultant and, where necessary, refer to Critical Care Outreach and/or Critical Care for ongoing management. They will be required to work collaboratively with all multi‑disciplinary members of the surgical team, with potential need for future weekend and on‑call/night shift working once the team expands.
This role is eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, as defined by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). We welcome applications from individuals who require sponsorship to work in the UK. Sponsorship will be offered subject to meeting UKVI eligibility criteria.
