A leading healthcare provider in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks a qualified Band 6 Clinical Nurse Lead. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic qualified Band 6 Clinical Nurse Lead (Registered Mental Health and Learning Disability Nurses) to work within the Neuro psychiatry inpatient service on Ward 2, Walkergate Park.
The regional service supports individuals who have neurological disorders for example:
and require specialist neuro psychiatry input. Presenting with a range of physical, cognitive, communication and emotional problems as well as challenging behaviours. We aim to provide a secure, and low stimulus environment that is suitable for people who require a full assessment of their needs including nursing, medical, psychology, OT, physio, SALT and dietetics.
The individual will be responsible for leading the team and providing high quality, patient focused, evidence based care under the support of the ward manager.
We are seeking confident individuals who are competent in leading in the delivery of high quality nursing care and service development. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate a warm, patient centred approach to care. You must demonstrate effective leadership skills, engage in multi-disciplinary team working; developing collaborative, needs based care plans, through assessment and formulation. You will be expected to facilitate and coordinate clinical practice, ensuring high standards of evidence based care and treatment during supervision of staff nurses and nursing assistants; taking a lead in, and supporting the staff team with complex patient care for both mental and physical health needs.
The post holder will be expected to assist with the implementation of all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes; ensuring that ongoing work towards the trust and national targets is progressed; oversee the implementation of policies and procedures and acting to correct any discrepancies; lead and supervise the staff over a 24 hour period and in the absence of the ward manager, you will be expected to support the team.
