Job summary

TMS Cleaning, part of TMS FM Group, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of cleaning operations across multiple sites in Maidstone and the surrounding area. You will be visible on-site, support and challenge your teams, and ensure the service promised is delivered to a high standard.

Can you lead teams, build client confidence and deliver consistently high cleaning standards across multiple sites?

TMS Cleaning, part of TMS FM Group, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of our cleaning operations and drive improvements in service delivery.

We need someone who understands commercial cleaning, sets clear expectations and follows through. You will be visible on sites, support and challenge your teams, and ensure the service we promise is the service our customers receive.

The role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading, developing and holding supervisors and cleaning teams accountable for their performance.
• Maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication, site visits and prompt resolution of concerns.
• Carrying out meaningful quality inspections and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
• Managing staffing, rotas, absence and holiday cover to deliver reliable services.
• Working with HR to recruit, onboard and train people who meet our standards.
• Ensuring teams have the right equipment, materials and instructions to do their jobs effectively.
• Managing labour and material costs against contract budgets.
• Improving operational processes and reporting clearly on quality, staffing, client satisfaction and contract performance.
• Supporting the mobilisation of new contracts.

What we’re looking for

You must have proven experience managing commercial cleaning operations across multiple sites, including responsibility for people, client relationships and service quality.

You will also bring:

• A track record of improving standards and resolving recurring operational problems.
• Strong leadership skills and the confidence to address underperformance professionally.
• Excellent organisation, communication and follow-through.
• A practical understanding of cleaning methods, equipment and health and safety.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing staffing budgets.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to client sites.

This role requires flexibility to support teams working outside normal office hours and respond when operational issues arise.
