Are you a patient and resilient individual looking to make a real difference in children's lives?

Five Education is working with a high-quality primary school to recruit a Classroom Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The children have a diagnosis of Special Education Needs (SEN), predominantly Autism and ADHD. They will need extra help at school in the lessons and at break and lunchtimes. You will need to be an excellent motivator and be willing to persevere to help children raise their self-esteem and learn new skills.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships with hard-to-reach pupils and be committed to helping them succeed. You'll be joining a welcoming and dedicated staff team in a school with excellent facilities and a strong culture of support and inclusion.

Whether you're at the start of your career or looking to apply your skills in a new setting, this could be the perfect opportunity to grow into a specialist role.

About the Role:
As a SEND Classroom Assistant, you will:
- Help pupils access the curriculum and stay engaged in lessons
- Support children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Work one-to-one or in small groups, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo
- Reinforce individual education plans (IEPs) and bespoke learning targets
- Assist pupils in their social and emotional development
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning and behaviour

What We're Looking For:
- Patience, empathy, and a calm approach
- A high level of initiative and reliability
- Resilience in managing challenging behaviour or emotional needs
- A desire to learn and grow within an education setting

No previous experience is required, but we welcome applicants from other relevant backgrounds, such as:
- Teaching Assistants or youth workers
- Healthcare or support roles
- Security or public service roles
- Experience supporting vulnerable people in any capacity

What We Offer:
- Tailored school placements that suit your preferences
- Ongoing SEND-specific training throughout the academic year
- Free, high-quality CPD from Five Education
- Support from a dedicated consultant
- The opportunity to progress into permanent roles

Your daily rate of pay would be £89.66* but with a potential to earn more based on your level of experience.

*Including holiday pay

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employers NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.

DBS: If you do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, we will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work, providing you have put the new DBS on the update service.

Vetting: Five Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a face-to-face interview.

We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as they are currently under-represented at this level.
