Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Tramper driver to perform ad-hoc driving across the UK, loading and delivering for major customer sites using a refrigerated trailer when required.

You will secure loads, perform daily vehicle safety checks, and stay in close contact with the transport team to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service. Training and development are encouraged to maintain high industry standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence.
• Possess a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Excel at meeting deadlines and working efficiently.
• Be a confident, courteous, cooperative team player.
• Have excellent geographical knowledge for navigation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly using bars, straps or nets as needed.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections using the company phone.
• Stay in regular contact with the transport team to ensure smooth operations and customer service.
• Attend regular training sessions to stay up to date with industry standards.

About the Role

• Carry out ad-hoc Tramper driving work across the UK, collecting and delivering from all our major customer sites, using but not limited to a refrigerated box trailer.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use bars, straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Use your company-issued phone to carry out thorough daily vehicle safety inspections, helping us maintain the highest standards of road safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular contact with our transport team, providing updates on your progress to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
• Take part in regular training sessions to keep your skills sharp and stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence, ready to drive with confidence and skill.
