Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Casual Driver in Bridgwater to safely operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers, load and secure goods, and deliver excellent customer service. Roles include potential tanker work and flexible shifts with no guaranteed hours.

Applicants must hold UK Class 1 CE Licence, DCPC, and Digital Tachograph cards. You will work as part of a transport team, providing real-time updates and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 CE Licence is required.
• DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Demonstrated focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work against tight deadlines and stay efficient.

• Strong knowledge of routes and geography.

Responsibilities

• Operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products.
• Load, secure and protect goods with straps, nets and load-securing devices.
• Operate palletised handling equipment as needed.
• Cover other areas of the business, including tanker work for bulk liquids.
• Provide outstanding customer service in person and by phone.
• Maintain clear communication with transport team and give real-time updates.
• Attend regular training on procedures, safety standards and best practices.

About The Role

As a Casual Driver, you will:

• Operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers to safely collect and deliver customer products, ensuring all journeys are completed to a high standard.
• Ensure all goods are loaded, secured and protected using appropriate equipment such as straps, nets and other load-securing devices.
• Operate palletised handling equipment as and when required.
• Flexibility to cover other areas of the business. This includes work on tankers where you need to safely collect and deliver bulk liquid products to customers.
• Provide outstanding customer service, engaging professionally with clients both in person and over the phone to represent the company positively.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, offering real-time updates to support smooth operations and manage customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay current with operational procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 (CE) Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
